Apply for the AAJA Sacramento/The Sacramento Bee 2014 Internship
In partnership with The Sacramento Bee, AAJA Sacramento is sponsoring a 10-week internship program for aspiring print, photo, graphics and multimedia journalists. A weekly stipend of $400 will be provided. The program begins in May or June 2014, depending on the intern’s availability. Upon successful completion of the internship, the intern will be eligible for a $1,000 grant from the chapter.
To qualify, an applicant must be enrolled in a college or university. Recent graduates who completed their studies in Fall 2013 are eligible to apply. All applicants must be 2014 AAJA student members. Strong preference will be given to AAJA Sacramento student members. Go to www.aaja.org to join or renew your membership.
The deadline to apply is March 15, 2014. The internship application can be found here.
Members: Apply for a 2014 AAJA Sacramento Convention stipend
AAJA Sacramento is pleased to be offering stipends to help members attend the AAJA 2014 Convention, which will take place in Washington, D.C., from Aug. 13-16.
The chapter board will inform recipients of their stipend amount. Because funds are limited, priority will be given to applicants who demonstrate active involvement with the chapter. Members receiving full funding from their employers or other organizations are ineligible.
You must be an AAJA Sacramento 2014 member to apply for a stipend. Members are encouraged to take advantage the early convention registration deadline, which is April 15. Go to www.aaja.org to renew your AAJA membership and to register for the convention.
The deadline to apply for the stipend is March 15, 2014. Download the stipend application here.
Students: Apply for an internship grant
AAJA Sacramento offers internship grants of up to $1,000 to college and graduate students who are interning at a broadcast, radio, or online media outlet. The grant is open to all AAJA Sacramento students who are interning in the chapter’s boundaries (which stretch from the Central Valley to the Oregon border) or elsewhere. The goal of the grant is to assist students who are receiving little or no pay for their internship or just college credit.
